U.J. Fan

Dr. Fan is a professor of mechanical engineering
and associate dean of the College of Engineering at Cal Poly Pomona. For over
fifteen years of tenure at Cal Poly Pomona, he has taught a variety of engineering
courses and has diverse engineering experiences in his areas of specialty. He
has served on numerous academic-related committees, including chairing the College
Assessment Committee, the College Curriculum Committee, the College Graduate
Studies Committee, and the University Curriculum Committee. He coordinated five
southern California CSU campuses and completed a comparison study on lower-division
engineering curriculum for the Southern California Presidents’ Summit.
He was the assessment coordinator for the College of Engineering, successfully
guiding engineering departments in preparing their assessment plans. Currently,
he is collaborating with the Pacific-Southwest Section of ASEE to hold an Outcomes
Assessment Forum at Cal Poly Pomona for engineering programs in Southern California.
