Joan Gillman

Joan Gillman has been the Executive Director
for USASBE (US Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship), the US
affiliate of the International Council for Small Business, since 1989. Gillman
coordinates the functions of a comprehensive organization of 800+ outstanding
researchers, scholars, teachers, administrators, and policymakers interested
in entrepreneurship and small business. Gillman coordinates activities with
The Coleman Foundation, the Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership,
and The Edward Lowe Foundation as well as develops strategic alliances for the
organization. Also, Gillman currently serves on the Board of Directors for the
International Council for Small Business and assists with international programming.
Gillman teaches business planning, motivation, strategic planning, networking
skills for success, and time and stress management for groups around the country.
She trains trainers to teach entrepreneurship in Macedonia, Bulgaria and Croatia
for the Open Society Institute, the nonprofit foundation of George Soros, where
she has started centers for entrepreneurship.
