Mary Beth Privitera, M. of Design, IDSA, assistant
professor of biomedical engineering, adjunct instructor of industrial design,
has played a key role in the development and implementation of the Medical Device
Innovation and Entrepreneurship program. She has thirteen years experience in
medical product development, including voice of customer needs assessment, usability
studies, and performance verification. She has specialized skills in ethnographic
and design research, usability testing, and human factors evaluation of medical
devices. She has worked at Johnson & Johnson, Inc., and as a consultant
for major medical device companies, including Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson,
Baxter Healthcare, Alaris Medical Systems, and Texas Instruments. She has been
associated with over thirty product releases and is co-inventor of five patents.
