G.E.O. (Otto) Widera

G.E.O. (Otto) Widera is professor and senior
associate dean of the College of Engineering at Marquette University. He received
his PhD from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1965. During 1998-99 and
again in 2003, he served as interim dean of the College and became associate
dean in December, 1999. He continues to serve as director of the Center for
Joining and Manufacturing Assembly and of the Discovery Learning Center. Dr.
Widera serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of Acta Mechanica Sinica (1989--),
is a co-editor of the SME Handbook of Metalforming, and is a Fellow of the American
Society of Mechanical Engineers. He recently served as a member of the Boards
of Directors of the Wisconsin Center for Manufacturing Productivity and of the
Engineers and Scientists of Milwaukee, and as vice-chair of the Wisconsin Manufacturing
Curriculum Committee. He is the current president of the Wisconsin Association
of Research Management.
