Encouraging Creativity and Problem-Solving Skills
A masters program in management of technology (MSMOT) has existed since fall 1998, when the School of Engineering at Fairfield University began training technologists in management disciplines, tuning their abilities in problem solving and inventiveness. Before then, management education had emphasized the problem solving associated with the acquisition and control of assets in creation of goods and services. In our ongoing revolution in technology it is difficult to overcome problems without the perspective of both technical and administrative knowledge. The MSMOT Program rectifies this by combining MBA skills with technical problem solving techniques, thus creating problem solvers who can manage.
