| In January
of 1999, the University of Detroit Mercy (UDM) launched its Masters
in Product Development (MPD) program, a joint venture between
the College of Engineering and Science and the College of Business
Administration, developed in collaboration with MIT, RIT, several
industrial partners, and the National Science Foundation. The
goal of our MPD Program is to educate a new class of technologically
grounded leaders: individuals with a special blend of engineering
and management skills required to conceive of and create today's
increasingly complex automotive products and manufacturing systems.
This presentation outlines intended student outcomes of the program,
and describes the details and results of outcomes assessment.
