Engaging Entrepreneurs Across the University
Fri 4:00 pm - 6D
John Farris and Paul Lane
After surveying the Grand Valley State University student body to gauge their interests in entrepreneurship„specifically in participating in an entrepreneurship minor„an interdisciplinary committee tailored a new minor to serve students with an idea for a product or service. A focus group of successful entrepreneurs convened to discuss knowledge and skills required for success. The first year courses take the student through the initial stages of creating a new product or service and entering the marketplace. In the second year, students learn the basic theories, concepts, and techniques that serve as the tools of new venture planning. In the third year, students apply the previously learned material in a series of practicum opportunities.
