| This session
describes experiences designing and deploying courses to encourage
entrepreneurship, increase course relevance, and enhance students'
teamwork skills. Students in Management Information Systems, Finance,
and Computer Engineering form cross-functional teams to develop
mobile computing applications for local clients and entrepreneurs,
and generate business plans for their deployment, embodying the
NCIIA's E-Team concept. Through a grant from Hewlett Packard,
students and professors have the use of either a PocketPC or TabletPC
to support systems development and collaboration work. Students
obtain feedback and support from venture capitalists and technology
experts. Teams present their prototypes and business plans to
members of the venture capitalist, local business, and university
communities. |
