| Freshman
and sophomore hands-on design courses have the potential to provide
an early introduction to the design process and illustrate the
application of theory to practice. However, potential pitfalls
include: lack of student confidence, poor time management skills,
ineffective teamwork, and lack of integration of analysis into
the design process. This presentation offers methods used to overcome
these pitfalls in a hands-on design course that is taught to over
250 freshmen and sophomores a year at UCSD. |
