| Many skills
are needed for successful innovation, but typical design courses
generally focus on a technical discipline with little time for
business concepts. Yet, most innovations that fail do so for business,
not technical reasons. There is not time to get an engineering
degree as well as the full range of business skills needed for
commercial success. However, some basic knowledge of commercial
realities is important, even to perform effectively as the technical
part of a multidisciplinary team. This presentation identifies
the crucial concepts, methods to facilitate their learning, and
some ways of assessing the results. |
