| This paper
describes an effort underway in the Integrated Science and Technology
Department at James Madison University to create a university
center dedicated to instruction in a wide variety of thinking
skills and meta-cognition. The center includes research and instruction
in computer skills related to the assembly, organization, and
analysis of data; linear thinking skills; non-linear thinking
skills; and abstract thinking skills leading to meta-cognition.
