Tech received NSF funding for a course entitled InVenture Research
(IVR) to multidisciplinary teams of high school, undergraduate,
and graduate students. Each team is assigned a university technology
to research. With assistance from the inventor, business school
faculty, and external mentors from the business community, the
team assesses the technology's potential and devises strategies
for transforming it into a revenue-generating venture. This session
describes the technologies examined in the first offering of the
course and the process of identifying the deliverables regarding
their commercialization. It describes the first few weeks of the
course including preliminary results and anecdotal feed-back from
students, faculty, and business mentors. |
