| One of the most challenging tasks in higher education is ensuring that programs provide a pool of graduates able to take on the challenges offered by full-time employment. In the past, many business programs provided a core set of business papers, with a specialization in a key discipline such as marketing or law. Whilst this specialization has led to students becoming more focused, it could be argued that students relinquish general business skills for the guts and glory of their major. The Business Faculty at Auckland University of Technology is addressing this problem, in the form of a co-operative education and a capstone paper.
