| The Greenfield
Coalition of eight universities and colleges, charged by the National
Science Foundation with modernizing engineering education, has
worked to develop new curricula, including courses in business
knowledge and skills for engineers. Following a first course,
The Manufacturing Organization and Its Environment, is a new course
entitled Entrepreneurship. The Entrepreneurship course follows
the Greenfield model of blended learning: classroom, Internet,
and workplace. Learners apply tools for self-assessment of entrepreneurial
potential, generating and testing the feasibility of ideas, and
producing viable business plans. They learn about entrepreneurial
leadership, marketing, creative thinking, and researching ideas.
The course, organized in modular units, is exportable to other
locations and universities. |
