Decentralization of higher education plays a very important role in
community development, to maximize local resources. Building local
technopreneurship enables communities to develop self-reliance. The
main challenge from the university perspective is moving from a mission
to produce “graduates with levels of excellence in their areas of
expertise” to “training future professionals with strong commitment
to development of their community.” This session will document and
analyze these changes, examine IPB outreach activities in relation to
technopreneurship building, and identify ways of further strengthening
IPB’s contribution to community development. One strategy is to
form an entrepreneurship club. |
