Economically, Ethically, and Environmentally Sustainable Entrepreneurship: A multidisciplinary approach to developing entrepreneurs and global leaders

This session focuses on the University of Portland model of experiential learning that creates an understanding of development and implementation of innovative sustainable solutions to problems related to basic human needs. This interdisciplinary model was created by four endowed chairs at UP (Entrepreneurship, Ethics, Environmental Science, and Environmental Engineering). Participants will examine this model and discuss how similar models could be adapted in other university settings. Participants will learn about effective models for rapid curricular change. They will also learn about sustainable entrepreneurship in developing countries and how related concepts can be effectively taught, leading to new innovations in serving basic human needs.
