Core Competencies of Entrepreneurship

We all know an entrepreneur when we see one, but can we define the core concepts,
skills, and abilities necessary to be an entrepreneur? Can we teach them? In this session, we present our recommendations of the core competencies in entrepreneurship that can be taught and learned at the undergraduate level. This recommended skill set has been developed with input from entrepreneurial mentors,
service providers (including attorneys, accountants, insurance providers and marketing professionals) who work with entrepreneurs, student business owners, and faculty members teaching courses in entrepreneurship.
