From E-Team Funding to Venture Capital: Creating bridging alternatives for technology commercialization

This panel discusses a range of alternative innovation financing, including NCIIA- style student project funds, traditional venture capital funds, angel networks, hybrid loan/investment funds and gap funds, to name a few. The panel presents a staged model of financing and discusses examples of each of the financing approaches
noted above. In addition, impacts on faculty and students are considered. Finally, the question 'Does the existence of such funding at the university level change views on what ideas are real opportunities?' is addressed.
