Carlos Vignolo Friz received a degree in civil engineering from the University of Chile, a Masters degree in industrial engineering
from the University of Chile, and a PhD in economics from the University of Sussex, U.K. Friz is the academic director of
the Program in Sociotechnology in the Industrial Engineering department of the University of Chile. He is associate professor
in ESADE, Barcelona. His main interests are innovation, sociotechnology, and leadership skills. He teaches sociotechnology,
management skills, and innovation at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He has more than thirty publications to his
name, including the 2005 National Prize Management Made in Chile, awarded by Trend Management Magazine in a special
edition. Friz is also director and shareholder of companies producing fishery and aquaculture products.
