Joan Gillman is the executive director for USASBE-United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, the
U.S. affiliate of the International Council for Small Business since 1989. USASBE is composed of 800+ outstanding researchers,
scholars, teachers, administrators, and policy makers interested in entrepreneurship and small business. As director of
special industry programs, executive education, for the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business, Gillman acts as a
conduit between university resources and the business community, spanning small business and entrepreneurship and family
business to teaching managers and designing executive programs. A published author (Business Plans that Work, Adams
Media), Gillman teaches business planning, motivation, strategic planning, networking skills for success, and time and stress
management for groups around the country. She trains trainers to teach entrepreneurship in Macedonia, Bulgaria and Croatia
for the Open Society Institute, the nonprofit foundation of George Soros, where she has started centers for entrepreneurship. |
