La Verne Abe Harris teaches at Arizona State University. Previously, she worked in industry as a creative director of an advertising
agency, owner and creative director of Harris Studio, art director of The Phoenix Gazette, editorial illustrator for The Arizona
Republic, and computer graphics production manager of Phoenix Newspapers, Inc. As the computer graphics production
manager, Harris managed the operations of an international, innovative computer-graphic department in a joint venture with
McClatchy Newspapers of Toronto, Canada. She reported directly to the general manager and was responsible for the content,
creation, and technology management of a cutting-edge, two-way, interactive, public access information system, and a home
banking interchange venture. She worked collaboratively on interactive computer-graphic projects with Canada, Japan, California,
Nevada, Florida, and Hawaii. She chaired the International Teleguide Conference in Toronto, Canada.
