Kate Huckelbridge is pursuing a PhD in environmental engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. Her research is
investigating the factors controlling mixing and transport of salts in non-riparian, freshwater wetlands, the exchanges of water
and salt across the soil/water interface, and the effects of wetland management on salt dynamics in wetlands. In addition to
her research, she is an active member and past president of Berkeley’s chapter of Engineers for a Sustainable World. She has
also been involved in the design and implementation of a new project-based class that focuses on sustainable and appropriate
design.
