Mark Polczynski received his BS and PhD degrees in engineering from Marquette University. He has worked for Allen-Bradley,
Cutler-Hammer, Square D, A.O. Smith, and Eaton Corporation. He has done electronic hardware and software design and
product quality assurance, and has supervised an electronic manufacturing line. He has managed research and development
departments, and has led new product and technology development teams. Polczynski is currently director of Marquette University’s
Masters of Science in Engineering Management program. He is developing a course in strategic technology planning
and development processes, with focus on integration of voice-of-the-customer, new concept ideation, technology roadmapping,
intellectual property generation processes, and stage-gate technology development. He is also developing a course in
the application of technology to innovation and entrepreneurship which examines how technologies such as fuzzy logic, neural
networks, genetic algorithms, combinatorial research, data mining, etc., can steer and accelerate innovation and entrepreneurship.
