Marie C. Thursby is a professor of strategic management and holds the Hal and John Smith Chair in Entrepreneurship in the
DuPree College of Management at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She is the founding director of a graduate certificate
at Georgia Tech and Emory University called Technological Innovation: Generating Economic Results. Designed for
doctoral students in science, engineering, management, and MBA students from Georgia Tech—as well as JD and doctoral
students in law and economics from Emory—the program connects integrated research in diverse technology fields with business,
legal, and organizational issues important for understanding commercialization of fundamental research.
