Colin Twitchell is the founding director of the Lemelson Assistive Technology Development Center (LATDC) located at Hampshire
College. He has worked in the field of assistive technology and been active with entrepreneurial endeavors for more than
twenty years. During this time, he has been involved in several start-up businesses and with bringing inventions to the marketplace.
Through his work at LATDC, Twitchell has helped students obtain intellectual property protection, start businesses, and
create social enterprises. In addition to mentoring and advising students about entrepreneurship, Twitchell has recently taught
a course focused on social enterprise creation. Currently he is working on a project that will help make entrepreneurship
education more available to undergraduate liberal arts educators. Twitchell also serves as a faculty advisor to the Grinspoon
Entrepreneurship Foundation.
