Robert S. Weissbach received his BSEE from the University of Florida in 1987, his MSEE from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
in 1990, and his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University in 1998. He is currently an associate professor
of engineering in the Electrical Engineering Technology program at Penn State Erie, the Behrend College, where he is also the
program chair. From 1988-1994 he was employed by General Dynamics Electric Boat Division in Groton, CT, where he worked
on the design, construction, and testing of submarine turbine-generator sets. His research interests are in power electronics,
power systems, and multidisciplinary education; he co-teaches a product development and entrepreneurship course for engineering,
technology, and business students.
