Design for Sustainability: Technology Innovation for Competitive Advantage
Lamar University, 2007 - $9,600
This grant supports a course that encourages students to take global and regional socio-economic concerns into account in products and services, with the goal of meeting the needs of society now and in the future. In the course, students will team up and develop a coherent technology plan to solve a sustainability issue. With the help of the PI and the College of Business, each team will recruit business students to study the economic viability of their technology plan. At the end of the course, a panel of experts from technical and business fields will judge the quality of students' projects.
