Arizona State University, 2007 - $5,000
This grant supports a sustainable entrepreneurship education course tailored for Native American cultures. The course, "The Four Directions," will introduce attendees to all aspects of venture start-up and management as well as sustainability concepts, technologies, markets, business practices and "quadruple" bottom line thinking for tribal sustainability. Class attendees will develop initial business plan elements, culminating with formal team presentation before a panel of experts. The course will be offered two to three times per year in both local and distance versions and will make extensive use of guest speakers.
